DriveWise Building Relationships Through Innovation at AMEMSO 2011

September 8, 2011

DriveWise (www.drivewisesafety.com) will be showcasing the driving simulator on Booth 41 at the annual Association of Municipal Emergency Medical Services of Ontario Conference in Blue Mountain, Ontario.

The driving simulator, as used by County of Simcoe EMS, District of Muskoka EMS and City of North Bay, is an instrumental part in reducing risk, increasing safety and decreasing costs associated with operating emergency vehicles. The simulator allows students to drive through high-risk situations, including emergency response, and practice procedures and driving techniques on-site or at one of the DriveWise centres located coast-to-coast.

“DriveWise has been integral in changing our driving habits and educational training for our Paramedics,” said Terri Burton, Director of Emergency Services for the District of Muskoka. “DriveWise customized the training to us, including our unique landscape, terrain, weather and animals,” she continued

DriveWise will also be showing the new Incident Command System that allows students to practice prioritization, risk assessment and triage when responding to emergency situations. This system is designed to replace the static tabletop method and provide paramedics with an interactive training solution.
